Workshops

MLab is currently offering two types of workshops:

Formal Expert-led Workshops

These workshops are offered on an occasional basis, take place outside of the normal MLab hours, and are taught by a professional in the craft.  They are free for students (Grinnell College, middle and high school, and Iowa Valley Grinnell), and are available at variable costs to community members.  These workshops are not covered by a day session pass.  These workshops do NOT require that you have gone through the general safety training and receive an MLab account.  Registration is required, and space is limited.

Daily Monitor-led Workshops

These workshops are offered daily during normal MLab hours and are taught by our monitors.  They are free for students (Grinnell College, middle and high school, and Iowa Valley Grinnell).  For community members, these workshops are covered by a single day pass to the MLab.  These workshops also require that participants have gone through the safety training and received an MLab account (see Getting Started page).  This is not done as part of the workshop.  Registration is required, and space is very limited.
